I asked on another forum about my cyno problem and they seem to think it is my water.

I use walmart purple cap distilled water and now I have purple cyno like crazy.

Would using the culligan water be better or should I get an rodi unit.

Rodi unit my tank is only 12 gallons so I do not need tons of water is there a rodi unit that I could use and not have tons of water.

Cant you hook up to your sink and even drink the water and use it for my tank I have never had or looked into this so Im at a lost?

any rodi unit on ebay worth looking at ?

It could very well be. I set my tank up with an RO/DI unit from the beginning because the water where I live comes out of the tap at 800 TDS which is worse than well water.

I bought the unit from FilterDirect. It was 124. bucks shipped. It is a great unit and yes you can also buy the upgrades so you have the 3 gallon container under your sink and can use it for drinking water as well.

I did change out my DI resin to the one that theFishGuyz sell, because it lasts longer and all I have to do is change a solid unit vs dealing with the acutal DI resin material.

I am not sure about the culligan water, but I do know that distilled water is condensed in copper piping and could possibly pick up contamination from that copper and I personally would not chance using that water for that reason. If you have a local pet store that sells DI water that would probably be your best bet. Mine sells a gallon for like a buck (without salt), 1.50 with salt. Does your store sell RO/DI water?

I will have to look around at the supermarkets here the closest LFS is 80 miles away so it would be hard to get water from there all the time.
