I have been to approximately 8 local fish stores pricing Lava/Lace Rock. The cost per pound has been anywhere from $1.59 to $1.75 per pound. That's a lot of pennies to save up, lol.
So I'm talking to a landscaper in the neighborhood this morning that told me the average cost of Lace Rock at the local building supply companies is somewhere around $0.29 per pound.
Am I to be leary about rock bought at these supply outlets? Is it the same rock?
I mean for 50 pounds I would spend almost $80.00 at the LFS compared to less than $15.00 at a building supplies store. There's got to be a catch, right?
