are there any mounting legs that are compatible with a glass top? i really don't want to take off my glass top as i hate having to top off, and i might get hatchetfish. but i do need get the light up off the tank, the front is just too dark.

i can't find the exact fixture i have, but it's an all-glass aquarium brand 24" power compact strip light with an 8000k 55watt bulb. it has a built in reflector, but the front still gets no light at all.

I would also like to have this question answered as I am getting a strip light, I do not want to hang it over my tank.I would also like to have it on legs

mellow-not possible, i live in a dorm, i would be in quite an amount of trouble if i tried drilling holes in the ceiling to hang my light from.

can you run a second strip on the door glass and just pick it of to feed and do cleaning. if not maby there is a DIY project for your existing light..

ack, so expensive. i can't afford another 55-watt power compact. i guess i could put the old 15-watt strip on there...

yeah, that's what i'm doing now. i just wondered if there were any mounting legs that i could use in conjunction with the top.

Is this what you have?
