I've never heard this... And I don't have a problem with this... but your only other options are: Metal halide, which is brighter so should be even more likely to bleach corraline; Incandescent, which will look horrible and probably won't even grow corraline and; LED's, well... look up how much these go for...

Must be the same guy who insists you use biowheels as well. Also, tanks aligned in a north/south fashion will grow corals better because they are aligned with the earth's magnetic field. :grinyes:

Yes, I realize there is a lot of goofy information out there. Halides and fluorescents (this includes T5s, VHOs, and PCs) all have their various pundits, but both technologies will work in reef environments with similiar success if set up correctly.

i would go with pc,s they are cheaper than mh lighting and dont run as hot also cost less to run. thats what i have on my 55 and you will always get some Coraline die off when you upgrade lighting.
