what are the odds?

i have two of the cheap coralife light strips, the thin plastic ones with 2 14w bullbs... they're both coming up on a year old in april... so I know I need new bulbs... but both of the bulbs in one unit flickered out yesterday, while the other unit is going strong.

odd timing.

I tested the other bulbs in the burned out unit, they work fine, so the balast is ok... time to reorder!

anyone know the cheapest source for 14w 6700k t5's?

boy, this is a hard to find bulb! I have the 24" fixture, and haven't found the right bulb very many places.

Yes it is. My normal vendor does not carry them.

I'm in a similar dilemma. I have the same housing as you but I'm looking for a 10000K bulb or another 6700K to complement the other 6700K bulb I have. Those bulbs are very hard to find in a brick-N-mortar store. Only place I've found them are online.

Either that or buying/building a new fixture to get me over the 2 wpg threshold.

I've seen 10000k bulbs all over, it's the 6700k that are hard to find

mine have 1 of each, 10000k and 6700k... but am looking to get rid of the 10000k... they bring out nice color, but I've read they promote algae, and the tank with them has been a constant algae problem.
