I bought 2 bunches of hair grass (Not sure whether it is a dwarf hair grass). The big bunch, as I did not check it from my local fish store, came with BBA while the other is OK. Is the BBA is going to spread to other plants in the tank ? What should be a good solution to remove them? Can I cut infected one for new growth?

Pls help.

Yes, cut it off the hairgrass. You can also try making a 3 parts water to 1 part excel mixture and spraying it on the hairgrass. Whatever anyone says, don't dip it in bleach, no matter how dilute.

Also make sure you're injecting enough co2 and all your nutrients are in order. You'll have no problems.

Thank a lot. It is the Black Beard Algae. Will do as instructed. I am new with hair grass - Can I ask a little bit more info'. How long does it take for the hairgrass to reproduce - sending it runners out?

depends on your substrate, plants that produce runners tend to like nutirent rich soil. better the soil, the faster. then again depends on lighting, ferts, CO2, water quality.... so more info needed...

Thanks. My substrate is purely river gravels (3mm to 6mm). I could not afford aqua soil to mix with - at my local fish store it is already 8$/kg however I dose dry ferts and co2 daily with 20% water change weekly. No water test is made so far as I could not find the test kit in my local fish store. Would have to observe my hairgrass to see any progress within the next 3-4 weeks. Thank you all once more time.
