What kind of lighting do you have? There's no point in dosing anything without higher lighting. Excel will be fine, but other fertilizers people have problems with when keeping shrimp.

i cant answer on whether the cherry's will be affected by the flourish. i will tell you that you should probably stay away from the ferts if you don't need them. They will only cause you more problems, money, effort in the long run if they aren't necessary.
Java Fern and Java Moss certainly require no fertilization.
I have a low light tank with java fern, java moss, mossimo balls, corkscrew vallisneria, red ludwigia, and guppy grass. I add a small amount of Leaf Zone which is Iron and Potassium after water changes, or otherwise the ludwigia leaves grow in a bit pale.. otherwise i would need nothing..
no reason to put ferts in there to solve problems you dont have..
The cherries are alive and breeding in there with the Leaf Zone though..

the tank has 2 15 watt bulbs. so 3 watts per gallon !

IMO, you don't need ferts for a low light tank like that. Your plants are generally not going to grow fast enough to use up extra nutrients. I would just let the tank go without ferts.. If you discover a problem, you can go here and diagnosis, and dose for that problem only..

thank you, now for more questions.....
I have the tank set up, the water from the main tank in it, and the gravel from the main tank added tonight and the filter from the older tank tomorrow if the snails arrive.... the snails should be here tomorrow afternoon.
my question is... what do I feed these snails, when they arrive since there will be no food on the tank bottom or sides due to new tank.... and when my shrimp arrive next week, same thing? will flake do, or do I need to get bottom feeder food. I have lots of different foods, but are these guys vegitarians or will they eat the flake, the soft pellets ?
and is this tank considered low light since it has 2 6700k 15 watt bulbs on it?
