i have read a lot about planted tanks, how many plants make it a planted tank?

Well, there are terms that you can find such as "lightly-planted", "moderately-planted" and "heavily-planted".:) A few bunches of true aquatic plants makes your tank planted.

LOL! as long as u have at least just one, then it is. but ofcourse one plant doesn't make a very good aquascape unless ur increible at aquascaping.

I must agree with Canuck. If you have trouble finding the fish its planted.

My "original" tank certainly qualifies as an underwater jungle but my fish love it and I think it looks cool. I have lots of house plants but all mine happen to be underwater! :)
