I have been looking over this site for a while and had most of my questions answered. I've got my tank all prepped according to the site's suggestions.

Its just one of those cheap 2.5 gallons TopFin tanks.

I know a 10g is the minimum tank for a blue lobster but it is really the only thing I want.

Is it at all possible to have just the blue lobster with a few plants and the gravel no other decor?

Thanks!

as these can grow quite large i wouldnt recommend keeping it in your 2.5g tank atall. also it would probably be a blue crayfish not a lobster.

Yeah, I meant crayfish.

I thought they terms were interchangeable?

k, I own one. Bought "Blue Lobster" from walmart. 8.66 for a incher, couldnt resist. Ive moved him around a bit and I am about to sell him to my buddy.

They are planted tank monster's- well the blue one at least lol.

I have/had a wild caught tan guy. He hid under the fake plant dishes. He would sometimes tear it up slightly but I think this was just climbing around. This was in a 5g. about 2-3"

I moved him (wild) to a 10g with a cave. he loved the cave and left the plants alone a bit more. 4-5" died.

The blue in the 5g didnt tear much up. I had built him a cave. 1"

The blue in a diffrent 10g with a cave- tore up the plants all over the place. Just cutting and laughing the whole time at me. 2-4"

So I dunno

I now have him in a seperate tank awaiting to get him outta my planted heaven.

If you want one get em'. There really neat. but a larger tank would be better for him/her and I'd go fake plants all the way. Dont forget to feed them a big jumble of diffrent foods to keep there nice blue color strong. pellets, veggies, algae tabs, feeder guppies are the fav at my place.

Good luck, cant wait to see pics.

A friend of mine just closed a tank down and gave me a 6 inch Blue Lobster/Crayfish or whatever and 2 large african clawed frogs. He had them in a 20 long and were getting too big. I have them in a 30 for now. There really awesome to watch..
