hi all.
i hav a few young discus(over a year and i think just mature) and they trid to breed the other day. one was doin a practise run i think but no 1 else did anything. one other was near it during this run tho. i hav been doin w/c larger and more frequently lately to try get them to spawn. i hav also fed them 3 times a day with frozen brineshrimp and bloodworks instead of 2.
i am thinking of gettin a pair of bristle noses and putting them in the same tank(they are still in the community tank) and then getting them to breed thus putting hormones in the water so the discus may react to and start to breed aswell.
will this work. i hav heard that if u add water from a tank that has recently had a spawn into the other tank it can get a pair active. is this true?
i will when the discus are a male/female pair and i know for sure move them to their own tank and the bn to a different tank. just wanted to know if it would work.
thanx in advanced!
