Asterophysus batrachus. As for the growth rate, I cannot answer that. I have no plans to keep or try the gulper catfish considering their astronomical price. I believe however MFK, our sister site, is a much better place to ask about gulper catfish unless a few MFK members pop in to answer the question for you.

MFK to the rescue!! They are slow growers...your talking more on the months/per inch side of growth rate. I can't give you an exact number because it really depends on the diet and conditions of the fish, but think along the lines of datnoid growth.
These guys very rarely break a foot in captivity, but they should be kept with tankmates about twice their size so I would focus more on planning tankmates for the size of the fish your getting versus the growth rate...that won'd be an issue.
