http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142113 i didnt realise there was a goldie forum, ive only had tropicals so ive not looked elsewhere. what would you say would be the minimum tank size we should get for this little guy,and we want to add a small friend the same size as him when we do get a new tank. hes at least 1 year old,and is about 1.5-2inches long,im guessing hes severely stunted due to living in around 2 gallons of water as his tiny tank was never cleaned or even topped up and the water had evaporated down to around the half way mark. hes already looking better since i cleaned his tank and added a filter. any help greatly appreciated. :help:

it's tough to say how much more he'll grow. personally, i'd start with a 10 gallon tank and see how he does. if he actually starts growing again, go to a 20. I can't imagine you'd need anything over a 20H for him.

Oh he'll grow, don't worry.

I have a pair of OEM goldfish in my possession that spent two years in a 15g tank along with two other goldfish.
Didn't grow much then, they were about 2.5-3" when i got them.
Now a year later they're 5".

Goldfish live for 20+ years and grow for most of that.

Ive your tight on money, get one off craigslist, you can find them really cheap there. A 30 gallon tank would be good for him and a friend for a long time, if he makes it and lives for a few years he may outgrow it, but thats not in the near future at all, especially since he might be somewhat stunted. We need a pic of this goldie! :(!
