I am looking into creating my own t8 or t10 lighting system for my 55 gallon, but I do not want to create it if it will cost me as much building it as it would buying it. I want to get t5, but I don't think I have enough money.
Would it be cheaper to buy a three strip t8 or t10, rather than build one? big als has a three strip fluorscent hood with bulbs for $100.
