HELP IMPORTANT ASAP!

Sorry man, I have no clue with this one! Do whatever you can to protect it from any running powerheads. Beyond that... Perhaps keep it submerged right-side up somehow? hope that it expels the air by itself?

It almost sounds like you ticked it off or it was on its way to releasing. I don't use a turkey baster to feed mine, I just take a small piece of silverside and drop it into its greedy little tentacles.

As far as reattaching it.. good question. Grins tried bridal vale and pinning hers to a rock to get it attached and it worked for a bit (but then she had a problem 'nem)... I used a small clay pot to put the foot of my nem into and he has stayed put. I got mine unattached to a rock.

Good luck. Have you tried googling?

I was told to use a turkey baster it worked fine until now! anyways if i pull it back down to the rocks it re-attaches for a while but then eventually the air bubbles accumulate in it's tentacles and it floats back up... the only LFS open here says to poke it with a pin but that seems like a terrible idea no? Will it learn to expel the air on it's own?

im totally confused here. the nem swallowed the air? i'd assume it would be able to work that out itself without much problem, it sounds just really ticked off to me. i'd leave it alone. just make sure it won't get injured on any ph's or anything and in the future DO NOT use a turkey baster! i don't know what you are feeding it but use feeding tongs or your hands (i use tongs personally). good luck!

I wouldn't poke it with a pin. I'm just wondering how you got air inside unless you had the turkey baster inside is mouth..

But I guess what I would do is use some soft netting material and tie it down to a its rock. I'd probably turn off all but one PH until it re-attaches or at least cover the power heads just in case it gets out of the netting and decides to go for a blender ride.

I wouldnt poke it with a pin, i doubt air being in it is the cause at all. When they completely release themselves from their hold on the substrate/rock they will float around, but as anyone who has tried to get one off some rock or glass knows, if they dont want to let go they arent coming off, a little air isnt going to pull the anemone up. Its hard to say why he released without having more info. How long has he been in the tank, and in that particular location? Any new additions to the tank before he released or changes in flow/light conditions? What are your water parameters? Also, what were you feeding it and how were you preparing it? Any chance some of the food had been contaminated? I feed mine pieces of krill and frozen brine from time to time, but I discard the water I thaw the brine in and mix them with tank water right before feeding so Im not blasting the nem with cold water. Turn off, or block the pumps so he doesnt get sucked up, but if possable try to keep something safe going for circulation (an overflow/return work well if you have them because you can put mesh on the overflow to make sure he doesnt go through, and the suction is gentle enough that it wont rip the animals tissue.
