BTW, it may be possible to "fix" the chamber by using silicone to block it off, although I don't know if it would cause heat issues.

BTW, if someone has a bigger QuietOne, I would be interested in knowing if it too has this chamber.

I have used many QO's, and I do believe most if not all, have this interior chamber. I'll take a look soon. My personal feeling with the QO's is they are decent up to around the QO4000, any higher and they arent very energy efficient as well as noisy. Do the 1200's not come with rubber mounting feet?

The feet are more suction cups than anything else, do little to stop vibrations, also, due to how its mounted it rests on the back. I've also removed that blasted (and quite useless) back plate, seems to lessen the noise a bit.
