I am looking for freshwater invertebrates - shrimp mainly - and am having a hard time finding a reputable place to buy them in or near San Francisco. Any suggestions?

I'm just looking for a few ghost shrimp. Where do you get them from online. Every place I've found charges at least $30 for shipping, which seems a bit steep for a $5 shrimp.

I have bought them here from the classifieds (cherry shrimp), you could also check www.planetinverts.com and www.theshrimpfarm.com. I usually charge $10 shipping, that shipping quote is outrageous! The shipping should go down as the weather warms as well and heat packs are not needed.

Capitol Aquarium in Sacramento carries Ghost Shrimp -- 5 for $1.25. Bit of a drive but if your going skiing you can stop by on the way. If I were you I'd call around to the local places and just ask. Probably the most efficient way. I've never seen them in any of the big box stores though.
