bought a protein skimmer and never used one and need something for it...help me out

i bought a protein skimmer off ebay and here it is.....

it says i need to put it in a gen-x sump and i cant find one. what am i supposed to put my skimmer in and im just lost and angry. i should have looked into it more and seen the skimmers with pump. it cost me $80 and i cant send it back. it does have a submersable pump on it.

Well, it is hard to tell what you have due to the pic quality, but if you have the pump on the PS then all you need to do is put the skimmer in your sump. It appears that the PS is not a HOB (Hang on Back) skimmer. So while you don't have to have a gen-x sump, you have to have a sump. Do you?

no they dont have a sump i have spoke with them in pm they need a sump yet

yes it can be used as hob with some mods i had mine hob until i got my sump setup.
