if it is your post there should be an edit button in the bottom righthand corner near the quote button

You hit the "Edit/Delete Message" button, but you have only a short time in which to do it.

I believe you have 15 minutes after posting in which to edit. If you need a post edited after that time you can pm a mod to do it.
