Table Salt

from what I read...yes. The iodine in the salt is in such a low concentration that it wouldn't hurt. Some people still prefer to use other "aquarium" salt though.

I've read some debate about the Iodine content.. I don't really have a stance on it since I haven't used iodized table salt. You can buy table salt without the iodine, or sea salt if you want to play it safe.. both still really cheap compared to aquarium salt.

Totally safe, and you only need it for ich. It is not the same as the required marine salts for brackish/SW set ups though.

You don't need to put salt in your FW tank regularly. Only for treatments. Just my opinion :).

Thank you, might be safer to stay away from iodine.
Iodine concentration is nothing to worry about. I worry more about people who add salt everytime water changes are done.

To actually do damage to the fish via the iodide in table salt you would have to put enough in to have water substantially thicker then sea water, the salt would kill the fish far before any table salt additives (both iodide AND the anti-caking agents) would do anything to them.

But, as mentioned above table salt has no place in any aquarium except as treatment for Ich.
