Setting up a new frag tank.

Hi, i am in the process of setting up a new frag tank.

Is there any benifit of adding live sand to this,or can i go bare bottom LOL.

I already have the skimmer,heater spray bar in place.

Also can i use the water from my main 5 footer on water change day and use this to start the frang tank off?

Any advice and ideas would greatly be appreciated.

No really need for a sandbed in a frag tank in my opinion as the frags are usually mounted on an egg crate shelf...I would not bother with using water from the display tank, but start off with new saltwater....
