I agree visi-therms seem to be the majorities opinion to be the best I just started using them.
Best price is petsmart online print the online price and bring it to their store they will match that price

Draal, that's why my plan is. Just want to see what could be a 2nd option in case its sold out. I have to get one as soon as I get off of work. Mine failed sometime last night.

I had a 100 watt in my 20..I swapped it for a 75 stealth..the tank was very difficult to stabilize..the 75 w stealth is working great now.
generally a 100 watt is the suggested wattage for a 20 tho.

scored a 100 watt visi-therm for $17.99 @ petsmart with the website pricematch.
i use the tetra submersible heaters. pre-set and compact; they do a fine job in my place, which is in buffalo in winter on the floor of an apartment seated on a concrete slab. i highly recommend them. also, they're cheap too!

i would never get a pre set heater. never know when you want to lower or up the temp.
