Will they mate?

I added some Tiger shrimp to a tank that used to have cherries in it. Today I found 2 berried RCS that were apparenty hiding for months. Not sure what to do. For now 2 of the 3 are seperated in another tank. Any thoughts, recommendations, etc.? I'm worried that if they hybridize my colony may be jeopardized.

Thanks MG! :)

That's what I had read, but the cherries appeared from nowhere and I've only seen females so I was worried.

They're very good at hiding especially when there's only a few.

Oh, I know BUT they were in a 10G tank with only a 3" x 3" piece of moss, fine gravel, and a sponge filter. I moved "all" of them out and into a 20L months ago and used the 10 for fry. Didn't see a single cherry until I moved the fry to their own tank and had the Tigers in for a month or so... then *Poof* pregnant cherries everywhere... lol

lol! I just found a bunch of cherry shrimp in my snail tank which is on a seperate floor of the house from the cherry shrimp....they have magic powers or something. Tigers and cherries are fine, only issue i can foresee is if you are going ot be selling offspring, seperating juvies would be a PITA

Man I wish I had the "magic" I got anti-mating magic tho! anyone want that? I wanna start a sterile classiffied add lol. all the cherry no baby mess! ROFL

That is exactly what I was concerned about. I think you're right, I believe my shrimp can teleport! :grinyes:
