Red Beard Algae turning pink

My red beard algae (at least that's what kind I think it is) it just turned pink the other day, it seemed pretty sudden, it was right after a water change. Does anyone know what that means?
I hope it means it is dying

I wanted to get a "before" picture, but my time machine seems to have blown a vacuum tube. Suffice to say, it used to be green, and them very suddenly became pink.

do you use Prime when you do water changes?

I use Amquel Plus, but I have had that algae for like a year and it has never happened before.
Oh well, I ain't complaining!

prime diluted in the water wouldnt have the same effect anyway, something else did it.

Mine turned pink and then started multiplying. It happened after a dose of Floarish.

Actually mine has since turned white/gray and I think it is dead.
