Upgraded memory and video cards in the computers and while the video card works in my wifes comp it seems to not be compatible in mine. I thought we had the same motherboard and all the specs look the same but mine just won't load up. I've switched them around to make sure it wasn't the card. I tried different cables. I've done everything possible to make sure its not the card or monitor.

Thinking its just a MOBO compatibility issue.

Anyone know a way around this? I have all the specs asked to run it but its just not working.

Its this card:

This is my MOBO:

This is my wifes MOBO (it works on this one)

If theres no way around it can you tell me the best possible videocard I could get with this MOBO? As it stands I'm using a GeForce FX5200

I think this one:

or this one

I would say its a compatibilty issue between the card and the KM400 Northbridge chipset...There has always been a lot of compatibility issues noted with this northbridge chipset....Your wife's is the KM266 northbridge which is quite a good chipset for VIA...

So my only real option is to either find the best compatible video card or get a new MOBO.

Well if anyone needs a report let me know. I just printed one up from Everest which basically tells me everything I have.

Just don't want to post it here.

Thanks Niko

Have you Looked into the BIOS some will have a option for selecting the onboard as default or as a agp/pci-e. I have ran into that on some older socket 462 boards running SIS and via chipsets.
