The first pic was when we first started cycling in late October. The second one was a month ago. The last 3 are from yesterday and this morning after we finished our planting marathon. The rock will be coming out as soon as the driftwood is ready to go in but other than that we're done. I think :grinyes:

That's a nice tank, and I mean the tank/stand/hood itself. Really nice.

Inside the tank is nice too, but, let's be honest...you'll never be done:devil:

Thanks, the tank/stand/hood all came off CL. It was a steal compared to retail.

I guess I should have said we're done with this tank (though I doubt that too, lol) I think the next plan is to add 3 more tanks and a custom stand to hold them. But that is for the fall. Other projects need to get done first.

The fish have gone nuts for the real plants. We hardly ever saw the female dwarf gouramis except for feeding time but since we've added the new plants they're all over the tank.

The oto deserves all the credit for that snazzy looking snail. It was getting quite mossy looking but a few minutes and the oto had it whipped back into shape.

You've done a great job with the tank; the two-tiered effect provided by the slate wall is neat. I have to try something like that. And that stand and hood are an obvious steal.

Thank you! I saw the good news about you finding a reasonable stand on your blog. I can't wait to see your Betta Palace.

I'm not 100% satisfied with the slope of the substrate behind the wall but I have to wait for the plants to root before I mess around with it again.

Thanks folks, we're really pleased with the new look. We liked it before too but now everytime we pass the tank we stop and watch it for a while. Ewelin even caught the hyperactive almost 4 year old stopping to watch which is quite impressive. He stops for nothing. It's amazing what a difference real plants have made.

Now if the dang gold snail would ease up on the dwarf hairgrass. It's constantly crawling all over it and has uprooted a few bunches. Another week and we should be fine but those roots need a chance to dig in!

Oh and, added bonus, all the moving around has relaxed the largest angel. He/she was not pleased with the addition of the 3rd angel a while back and kept chasing it off. They all get along swimmingly these days.

Just great. Ewelin just informed me that one of the dwarf gouramis has declared war on my dwarf hairgrass. He's getting all romantic I guess and is plucking it from the substrate and adding it to the anachris already floating. Geeze, lol.

You should put one of the display backs on it so that you do not see the wall and wainscoat.

The back is painted, anything you see is just reflection :)

Nope, not even when it costs me almost 1/2 pot of hairgrass...and still going. This better be a darn good nest!
