bought a blood parrot x flowerhorn today. was sold as being "a rare kilinfish" (please no arguements about the parrots, thats not the point of the post.)

cant find much info on them, and havent got anything on the other board yet today either about them. their beautiful fish, the body of blood parrot almost, except they can close their mouths, with the nice markings and color of a flowerhorn.

anyone keep any?? or know anything about them? their full grown size? general temperment?? hump development if any?? if they can spawn......the usual stuff :help:

he's being kept with my blood parrot, chocolate cichlid, black ghost knife and 2 stingrays right now. so want t get an idea of how he is before find out the hard way

They are pretty common. Should not have cost more than 35$ They can be treated the same as normal BP's. I am not sure about the breeding part though. They are hardy and accept a large range of parameters like normal BP's.....I have some BPxGT coming in later this week....

they are pretty nasty and grow to at least 10 inches.

give them plenty of space.

ill snap one and figure how to post in a day or so, once he/she decides to come out from the plants, and isnt so stressed from transport.

and no, i dident pay more than $35. $15 actually for a 2-3". they had 5" or so for $50 as well.

you know what? I saw 3 blood parrots I would have sworn from outer space this Saturday. I never in my wildest dreams thought the blood parrot could grow that big. The were 10 inches plus!! I wish I had my camera. next time I go I am taking pictures.

They are pretty common, I also recently saw a midas x parrot that was about 9-10" long.

Here's a thread of FH x parrot from MFK:

They sell a short bodied GT (I'd only assume it's a BP hybrid) here in chinatown.

I would love one of those, I assume he will get pretty feisty hey? blood parrots are either peaceful or naughty, mine is in between, he lines everyone up in the tank but does not hurt anyone ....... yet.

a very good friend of mine lives in Richland.
