So they have now started dye injecting albino cories. Is there nothing sacred anymore? And the ones I saw in my LFS are actually 4 times the price of normal albinos.

Today, I saw these "painted" albino cories for the first time when I went to my LFS for some meds.
These fish looked to be injected near the tail section, not the whole fish but a stripe.
It looks, for lack of a better word--"stupid".
I will not buy them...................:(

They have also began to appear here in Mexico :(
blue or red strip near the tail :mad:
they are going for about double what the regulars cost

There at the LFS by my house for 9.99
I guess animal cruelty costs more these days....

:mad: gwrr.. Painted albinos? That makes me angry, one of the reasons is..they are albinos. I personally like them pale. with thier red eyes :cool: . painting albino cories, takes away thier unique "albino" ..(cant think of a word)...uniqueness. *sigh* i just hope they dont go off and..cause more havok.

why woul people do this to these fish the whole thing about them is that theyre albino to begin with!!! this is stupid not to mention cruel, when they color fish is it painfull how is it done, i feel sorry these neat lil fellas have to go through this because of thoughtless people

Yup they have been doing this for years now, the lfs owners even have the cheek to say they are natural and charge a lot more.
Another thing I saw the other day.Blue, green, yellow, red and purple tiger barbs......all at silly prices with the natural ones at a quarter of the price.I took it on myself to tell some prospective buyers that the colour will fade in a month or 2 and they may as well save themselves some money and get the natural ones(with looked a **** sight healthier).The lfs owner didnt look to happy about my actions....:D
