It's the first time I've for sure seen him eating anything I can actually see. He's constantly picking at the rocks and substrate and I know I have pods, but I have no way of knowing what he's actually eating. Tonight, I fed them a defrosted cube of Formula One frozen food and I targeted some towards the bottom and into a few rocks so hopefully some would land and stay for him to find it. I just saw him eating it! He's sitting in one area where several little clumps landed and he's picking up big chunks and chewing and spitting and then picking up more! I think he's only spitting out what is too big for his little mouth because he appears to be swallowing. I guess there's no way of knowing for sure, but since he keeps getting more of it, I would think that means he likes it!

Yay! He's such a cute little guy. I worry and fuss over him and my Citron Goby constantly. I've added 2 bottles of live pods to my fuge now and I target feed with arcti pods every morning. The citron eats those, but I haven't seen the Scooter eating them.

Just wanted to share!

That's cool. If you have pods, though, it might be unnecessary to worry about it so much. My lil 29g tank with my lil 3-4 gallon refugium has been fattening up my lil scooter for months now.

Well, I'm still trying to fatten mine up. He was really skinny when I brought him home from Petco a couple of weeks ago. I even made them give me a discount on him because he was in a tank with a dying yellow tang when I bought him. I just couldn't leave him there. They do have pods in their tanks (you can see them on their live rocks), but their water quality is so poor, I've even been told by the employees there that they "don't have good luck with saltwater fish".

Anyway, he's eating - greedily - frozen marine cuisine this morning! I have to be careful. I have a tendency to want to keep adding food to the tank for this guy and my citron goby to get them fatter, but I don't want to overfeed either.

I laid in front of my refugium last night for about 30 minutes (yep, I'm pretty dorky) with my face pressed against the acrylic watching for pods. I am seeing a bunch of little white buggies crawling around in the macro algae! Woohoo! They do make their own way to the main tank, right?
