i forgot it is a juwel lido 120
so thats about 60 cm long and 120 litres (30 US Gallons).
Do you prefer a planted landscape with driftwood etc ? if so think about a pair of rams, or a trio (1 male, 2 female) apistogramma species. You can have some other fish with each - a school of small ones e.g. harlequin rasporas or small tetra, and some bottom dwellers - corydoras.
Or do you prefer a rocky landscape, in which case you can do a nice tanganyikan tank. Here's a thread where another member set up what I thought was really good http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131457...I think he put some julidochromis, a calvus and a trio of lamprologus 'minutus' or something like that
Either way, upgrade your juwel pump to the next model up - which I think would be the 400 but I would go up as far as the 600, which will fit in your tank; all of these fish like to be overfiltered.

For a 30 I would recommend:
Lot of rockwork and a pair of julidochromis
Light layer of sand covered in shells for a colony of shell dwellers (Neolamp. multi. are my favorite)
Mxing the two can work in this size tank, however, I find that even in my 55, which is a whole foot longer, that there are still face offs. And with the ease of breeding, you can quickly overpopulate a tank before you know what to do. I personally would choose one or the other.
Breeding for both is VERY easy.
