What cichlid do you think has the best parental behavoir? In many pics I see jags (B)without(/B) a divider in the tank caring for there young. out of curiousity once these fish pair up (jags) are they friendly to each other or is a divider necisary?
Anyway what cichlid would you vote for?

This is kind of question, you should ask predatorcichlid.

However, from what I heard, many cichlids like Jag, Red Terror, and a few other aggressive cichlids need divider even during breeding. Sometimes it depends on the aggression on the male or female. There are some male Convict that will kill the female Convict after spawning (for a few reasons).

Normally convicts kill thier mates when fry are removed to early. They blame the other fish for the failed brood. Either that or they are in to small of a tank with no where for the female to run. I have no literal experience with this but I hope to in the future.:D

festae, neets, convicts and beani's are probably at the top of the list with protecting fry.
