I have a 10 gallon tank with four neon tetras. (other fish died thanks to my cae, got rid of him) Anywho, I have brown algae now that I got rid of my CAE. It's gross. So I can't have a CAE I hate Plecos with a passion.
So what else will eat brown algae????
Thanks
Alicia
GASP! Hate plecos? <Passes out in disbelief>
Ottos maybe? They stay small. I don't know if they eat brown algea though.

Malaysian Trumpet Snail cleans up brown algae also. Good tank cleaner, if somewhat prolific. Doesn't harm plants, may eat fish eggs according to web info.
Want some? I've got some to spare, if you'll cover postage. But you can probably get some from a local store. They are ice cream cone shaped.
