I have a 5.5 gallon lying around and decided maybe make into a shrimp tank. I have a light fixture but it says incandescent. It also says not to exceed 13 watts. Can I use this for a shrimp tank? If so what kind of bulb should I get?

You can use screw-in compact flourescents in the incandescant hood. I like the ones sold at walmart under the brand name Lights of America.

incandesents put out a LOT more heat than a CF, i wouldn't worry about it.

Hi, I ended up buying a compact flourescent 10 watt. It's nice and bright. Thanks for your help.
