cheap, efficient, and good lighting for my 55?

some may do ok, some low light mushrooms, sun coral (as long as you direct feed it), yellow sun polyps.. there are a few, but not many. That light would be considered low light, even at the very top of the tank.

It really isn't much of an upgrade over your standard light.. there are just a few additional things you may be able to keep with that light vs the standard one, but not many. Personally, I wouldn't spend my $ on it if I was thinking of adding more "reef" type things to my tank down the line. I would go with a 2xT5HO fixture for now, that way you can still use it later on in addition to other lighting options.

alright. im gunna try to find something that is a little bit stronger and also in my price range. if you can, check back here and there to see if ive come up with something a bit better. thanks :)

hmm, its cheap lol. i like that. now is this a decent light for future additions of reef material or would i have to spend a little more? id like to be able to spend some money but also be able to get the most out of what i spend ya know what i mean.

That was the first T5HO light I bought. Just the 24" one, not the 48". I added it to my 2x65w PC (like the one you were looking at). The T5HO was 2x as bright as the PC light I had. I then replaced the PC fixture with a 4xT5HO fixture so now I have 6, but I am still using that original T5HO fixture like the one I linked.

You can add another one of those same fixtures down the line if you want, or if you decide to go a DIY route and add MH lighting, you can always take that fixture apart and use the parts for your actinic suppliments to the MH.. lots of options with T5s and less power used compared to PC lights.

Those lights I linked put out at least 2x the "coral" light.. the light spectrum corals use to grow, vs the PC lights, so they are definately better and give you more coral options.
