I'm wanting to add to wrasses to my 90G tank. I'm having a hard time chosing between the Carpenters Flasher Wrasse and the The Filamented Flasher Wrasse...

I'm going to be ordering 2 of them and I would like to know what experiences you have had with them and which one has more striking coloration...I need to chose...what do you guys think? Carpenter or Filamented?

LOL, I just had the same choice on Saturday at a LFS. I went with the Filament Flasher wrasse because it was smaller and I liked the colors and fin a little better. Plus I had one a couple months ago and killed it by mistake so I had to get another. It is now one of my favorite fish.

Edit: Dang it, actually, upon further inspection, it appears I got the carpenters.. Doh! Still, nice fish.. not the same one I had though.

ok, now I have no idea what I have.. ARGH.. The wrasse I have looks EXACTLY like this one. It only has one long spear on his top fin, not 3 like the carpenters. But the tail on mine looks just like this one, which IS like the carpenters, but not like the Filamented. Too many close ones.. lol.

Edit: Here is a pic I just took of mine.. quick little guy, hard to get a good one. His tail was nipped the first day.. typical initiation in my tank.

Thoise are so beautiful.. I've thought many times about getting one, but I have a nice peaceful tank and want it to stay that way... I don't know how aggressive these are, but I have heard that some wrasses are pure terrors and thus why I stay away.. But man those are gorgeous fish.

Do you like your carpenters personality Ace? Which one for you was more beautiful? Which one would you suggested to me? thanks

Here are a couple more pics I just took. He is very peaceful and loves to swim in the currents. It is the McCoskers Flasher wrasse it appears though so I scored. $70 fish for $30. I think all 3 should be peaceful though. The carpenters I saw was a little bigger than this one and I was looking for the smallest fish I could find.

Personally I like the Filamented over the Carpenters. Better colors and they seemed a little smaller as well.
