I went away for 5 days and left my tank under the care of my Dad.
Did a 50% water change before I went.

When I came back, I found rised ammonia levels (choked up filter), overfeeding and tank infested with some weird white creatures.

They are not the white thread worms we occasinaly see.

These weird creatures look like small polyps!

A small 2-4millimeter body (sometimes apparently 2 or 3 legged in rare instances) and the head of the creature has like ~5 radial longish thin threads around circumference.

What the hell are they?
Are they dangrous? They are too small for the Discus to eat.

They appear to be affixed to the glass but some are floating in water.

Sound like hydra. They eat small creatures, and can be a threat to very small fry. Otherwise pretty innocuous. Probably just a sign that you had a plankton bloom when the nutrient levels skyrocketed.

You have Hydra. They are freshwater polyps. They seem to appear AND dissapear with the water quality. When your water quality is good, they will go away. If you have tiny fry, they will eat them, but other than that ...and that theya re ugly (IMO), they are not a problem.
