Also would like to know if I should try to get all the water to go through the skimmer befor it gets returned or just sit it next to the return pump be ok thank you.

I didn't expect to see a wet/dry system being used for the sump. Have you already gotten it?

The skimmer is actully this one http://www.proteinskimmer.com.cn/c/cn/M_ViewImage.asp?ProductID=2000&user= and yes I have all of it just need ideas on best way to set it all up

It is going on a 4'x18"w x 20"h tank with a bulk head fitting and has a 4x39watt 14000K T-5 setup mounted on top of the hood with a hole cut in it so as to keep most of the heat outside the hood and just got this today for circulation http://www.guppysaquariumproducts.com.au/power-heads/hydor-koralia-39-s-k-copy-3000l/h-power-head-5-watt-marine/prod_94.html

Well I don't see how they are going to work together frankly. The skimmer you've selected is a good one, but it is intended for an open sump more like the ones on this page (http://www.melevsreef.com/acrylics/sumps/f/sump_f.html). In the sump pictured there you'd have the input into the sump in the first chamber and place your skimmer in there. The middle chamber would be used for a refugium, and then the last chamber is for the return pump.

That doesn't mean you can't have other layouts, the site I linked to shows different variations . What is important though is to make sure that your skimmer's footprint will fit into the chamber you have allowed for it, and that it is in the sump if designed to work that way. There are skimmers that are designed to be used externally. Those tend to be more expensive. There are also HOB skimmers, but I'd recommend one of the others over that option.

The sump return section dose not have a lid on it and the 2000l/hr pump, skimmer and 300watt heater fit in nicely. Just woundering if just stitting it next to the return pump is going to do a good enough job.I will try to put up a drawing of the sump later.

It isn't preferrable to have the skimmer next to the return sump, but I had to use that configuration on my current sump as well.
