Recently i bought two new fish a coral beauty and a desjardin salfin. I then placed them in my main tank after i saw that they were fine. A week later, my coral beauty got a serouisy case of white spot, and then began the problems. My koran angelfish and my dejarin salfin got white spot. so i tried to let it run its corse by just feeding them well and doing frequent water changes. The white spot just keeped getting worse so i added some medicine (tri-sulfate tablets):wall:. I then saw the fish getting alot better within three days so i stopped the treatment. The next morning my bi-colour blenny and desjardin salfin had died. I quickly tested my water and saw that my ammonia was at 3ppm. i realised that the medince had destroyed all the biological filteration. I then changed my water heaps of times. I then lost my lionfish and eventually my koran angelfish to marine velvet,( they must have got it from the water condintions). So i have lost half my stock of fish and are trying to keep my others alive but at least i have learnt from my mistake.:headshake2:

So sorry to hear about your fish loss. I have had similar issues in the past and have now started to use a quarintine tank religiously. Even with the best care and intentions fish losses are a brutal part of this hobby. I wish you the best of luck with your surviving imhabitants. It's unfortunate you did'nt know not to add meds to your display tank, but we all have had to learn lessons the hard way. Keep up with those consistant water changes because as you know, when things are running as planned, these tanks are a joy to have in our homes.

Sorry to hear about your losses.
