To all:

I have just hooked up my Coralife Pure-Flo II RO system, took some readings and now I am puzzled by my readings.

Water flowing into the unit has a TDS of 31 ppm. Pure water flowing out (blue line) has a reading of 0.0 ppm. What is puzzling is the discarded water flowing out of the RO (red line). The discarded water has a reading of 52 ppm. Is this possible that the discarded water can have a higher TDS reading than the water coming into the unit?

Ant help would be appreciated.

Yes that is correct. The impurities get concentrated in the waste line. All the dissolved solids that are removed from the pure water side are in the waste stream, so your waste stream has the dissolved solids from your normal tap water + the dissolved solids that were removed from the pure water stream.

Yup,
this is the water used to rinse or clean the membrane it includes all of the TDS removed my the membrane, as well as the tds included in the rinse water itself..
