Please see the photos and help me ID the plants. I got them from a reputable store but forgot to get the plant names. They are numbered 1 through 5. Photo 1 has 2 plants for IDing.

Thanks for the help!

First one is Egeria densa; I understand the term "Anacharis" is used of this plant and also Elodea canadensis and Lagarosiphon major. The last is indeed not an aquatic; it's a Dracaena if I'm any judge.

aren't Elode densa(brazillian waterweed) and Elodea canadensis (American/Canadien waterweed) different species?

Yes, they are different species and different genera, but they are both sold under the name 'Anacharis'. Egeria densa has broader, glossier, more tightly packed leaves; Elodea canadensis is somewhat more fluffy in appearance.

The plant in the last photo looks like a seedling Dracaena 'Massangeana', a popular potted plant sometimes called 'corn plant'. It will not do well submerged; if you want to keep it it needs to be taken out of the tank and planted in a pot with sandy soil; it can also be grown hydroponically, like the 'lucky bamboo' (also a Dracaena) sold at nurseries.

Not just that; different genera. Elodea densa has actually been classified as Egeria densa for about forty years; unfortunately the aquarium industry takes longer than that to catch up. I wish they wouldn't sell everything as "Anacharis" because the different plants have different requirements. Personally, I won't buy any plant I don't know the Latin name for, because a common name has no real status and could be anything. Planchon put the plant in Anacharis, but he died in 1888, so perhaps it's time to catch up.
