I updated my tank diary in the photo gallery, so there are more pics there too. Click the link in my sig.

Here are a few pics of some of the hitchhikers that came in with my new rocks!

closeup of a rock with orange sponges and various other things on it:

my camera's macro function doesn't work well at all, or maybe I'm doing something wrong, but anyway. Anyone care to try and tell me what this is?

What's this?

The pic makes it look orange, but it's more of a red. Do you think it's worth anything for a swap? I'm just wondering if I would be able to get anyone in my local reef club to give me some ricordias for it. :)

also, this one:

this is the biggest rock I got. It's heavy and at least 12" long, maybe a 14".

See the pink ribbon thingy near the top? That is what the red slug thing is leaving behind on rocks. So far, I've got 3 of these that I can see. And no, I don't have a pic of him yet. He's wierd and cool looking. Hoping he's safe to keep.

5 pics per post, right? :) More to come! And more ?s!

Here's the best one I could get of this pink stuff. Like I said, my macro function on my camera seems to be pretty crappy. Or I don't know what I'm doing. Whichever.

I did my best to try to keep all the sponges in water during unpacking. They arrived submerged and went from the box to my tank as fast as possible. Hopefully I didn't kill them. What are the early warning signs to watch for?

Just for fun, here's the spider decorator as he looked last night. Today he's wearing even more leaves and when you look at him, he slowly moves an arm over his face, as if to say "you can't see me".

and the red decorator:

see the orange zoas in the picture next to him? Those are the ones he either made off with or knocked over. I can't see them anywhere. I'm sure they're at the very back, never to be seen again. Or he'll turn up wearing them, but so far, not yet.

Thanks! I'm going to go stare into the tank with a spotlight for a few minutes and go to bed! I saw a little crab of unknown variety skitter across a rock into a hole earlier when I shined my light in!

Thanks!
