I assume my mail is trying to get it on with the 3 females however they keep swimming to the top of the tank and seem like their breathing from up top. there is plenty of oxygen and the platys and tetras are fine. Is this common? They will swim up looks like they take a breath or just sit up there and chill with their mouths at the water line.

Yeah, sorry for posting in the wrong spot. Hehe. Tank is cycled... for about 2 weeks its been done. So they are just odd fish? They are by far my favorites in the tank however.

cories will typically play "tag" dart to the surface, gulp air, etc. Mine even swim upside along the surface of the water and through the current. Its part of the fun of cories :)

They love getting the bubbles at the top of my bubble wall thing. Just being a worried parent! I need to pick up a few more tho.

Pretty common too with my bronze cories (dart up, gulp, dart down). One of them tries to eat that way too. Skims the surface trying to get some floating food. :)

i have the same type of corys and the tank is right by my bed so i watch them alot, they do that all day,ive seen them smack the hood ( bout half inch clearance from water ) a few times :)

Sounds very normal to me. A cory is acting strange if it just hangs out near the bottom all the time. If they are using the whole tank and playing in the water currents from the filter they are acting normal.
