View Full Version : glossos in 10 gallon. how many watt?

just wondering how many watts would i need. im planning for another 10, but want to make it one of those biotope dim peated tanks. will 1.5wpg be enough? next up would be a double fixture of 3wpg. also other plants i want are anubias, javafern. will java fern melt with 3wpg.

im going to get onyx sand. diy co2
any suggestions? thanks

No, Java Fern won't melt, and Glosso will do OK with 1.5. 2.0 would be better with lots of CO2. At 3.0 the Java will go nuts. You'll think you are growing lettuce in there. Also, at 3.0 you may have to clean the leaves of your Anubia quite regularly.

I am growing glosso in a 10G. It's only been in ther about a month, but is spreading rapidly. It does grow upward in the dimmer areas of the tank, but is doing well.

Godslayer, what is the color temp of your bulb? It looks very nice.

I have 26w of CF 6400K. And I have a 15w NO tube. I don't know what the tube is, but it's purplish. It looks nice mixed with the CF, but terrible alone.
