Ok, so I really am a fan of cerith snails. But they are breeding me out of house and home. I've been searching the web looking for a natural preditor for cerith snails... I've even added blue hermits back into my tank to see if they help with the problem. Are there any other known predators of these guys that are reef safe?

I litterally have hundreds of babies all over the place.. And yes they are ceriths.

Lots of hermits.. possibly a brittle star or coral banded shrimp. I dunno.. just throwing out ideas. I have no idea if they would work.

Can I just give you my address and you can mail some to me? LOL. I have been looking for 4 months straight at over a dozen LFS in my area and have yet to find ONE cerith snail. Most of the time I the employees point to turbos and say.. there they are.. snails. When I correct them as say Cerith.. a specific snail.. I get a strange look and again.. pointing back to Turbo's and they again say.. those ARE snails for saltwater.. completely missing the question. Pretty frustrating to say the least.

Yes my hermits seem to eat my snails....I'll pay shipping if you feel like trying to send some.

He HAS given them free to the locals! I came home from Fargo last week about a dozen snails richer! :P

You really have that many more now, CL? Wow.

Right now a lot of them are like a large piece of freshly ground pepper on the course side. They are the same ones I gave strangerdejavu a week or so ago.. But if I look at my sandbed it looks like black sand grains everywhere..

I guess I could call Brady and see if he wants them.. If anyone else wants some yeah I guess I can ship but it will have to wait until its warmer and they grow some so I'm sure I'm not sending you sand :) That and Fargo even though is over 100,000 pop is still considered "remote" and shipping out can be quite expensive...

The funny part is they are not laying them on the glass.. I have yet to see a grouping of eggs. I'll see if I can't get pic's with my camera... It doesn't do the best macro shots but you never know...

Ok so it looks like its turkey baster time.. I tried getting a pic but they are just black blobs against white.. Its not that I'm opposed to these guys though. Its just that there are so many of them and if this is happening just because a couple of the larger ones are breeding.. Whats going to happen when they all get large..
