Hi Friends...

Just wanted some desperate help and guidance...

Its my dream to have a nice little patch of lawn in front of my tank, just in front of the drift wood cave and I've planted some dwarf hair grass and some grass plant. My problem is that some fish or the other digs out some grass everyday and I have to plant it again and again. But I see that the roots are really improving and picking up as they have grwon pretty long.

Just wanted to ask if I can burry the grass a little deeper than normal so that the fish cant get them out again ? Or do I have to pull the plant up a little so that the crown part is above the substrate ? Will the grass still survive if the crown is under-gravel ?

I desperately want to see the grass carpet, kindly help and guide me friend...
Thanks and Regards
Kush

You should be able to plant them deeper with no problem. When I plant hairgrass I just use my tongs and stick them in. I don't really keep the crowns above the substrate. As long as it is getting lots of light it should grow fine. This is one plant I find that really does well with sand for subsrate and is much easier to plant in too.
