I had nothing better to do while waiting for a load of laundry, so I thought I would try to get a few pics of the 90 gallon cichlid tank. Fish are kinda blurry in these, but they just refuse to hold still for pictures! The background (painted by my oldest daughter) isn't nearly as light as the flash makes it look. It is much more subtle and blends with the rockwork much better than the pictures make it seem.

Nice, try to take a few pics when it's dark, turn the tank lights on and don't use flash, it'll also show the background better.

Thank you!
It's a piece of posterboard, taped to the outside of the back wall, that my oldest daughter painted to look like rocks. It's pretty cool looking, even if I do say so myself!

Thanks for all the nice words!
That tank looks like it will be getting a full on re-do in late summer. I will probably need to move it to the other end of the room after we do some remodeling here. And since 90 gallons of water, all that rock AND the solid oak stand it is on are not moving easily, I will most likely end up needing to pull the rockwork so I can get the fish into a holding tank and drain most of the water for the move. And since I have a pile of bluestone slate out back. leftover from an outdoor project..... Well, you all know where this is going. :) I'm actually looking forward to it, in a way. That tank has been up and running for 7 or 8 years, and other than some small rearrangement, I haven't changed much in that time.
