I couldn't figure out how to word the thread title but anyway...

Has anyone ever seen a tank like this? I thought I glimpsed something like it once on the internet but didn't bookmark the page, stupid me, and maybe my eyes were deceiving me. What is it called? Can it even be done?

The perspective is a bit wonky, but you get the idea, right?

Dang, then I must have been hallucinating that shape, or my eyes tricked me. Some kind of optical illusion. Because there were seahorses in the tank, too. How sad, because when I saw it I thought it was the coolest tank ever. Wish I could find that link!

my local aquarium has tanks like that. they are place lower to the ground, I guess so its easier to look at for kids maybe? They had one that had some giant clams and some other fish in there. The only difference is that the bottom extended out a lot more so that back portion that is flat had a much wider opening. They had the lights over that open part for corals and the clam and the fish swam mostly in that diagonal part.

oh look I got a picture of it when I went :D

My public aquarium has a couple of those. they are used to show off sand gobies and flounders. I have also seen many used for frag display tanks. I think its a pretty cool shape. I heard its a pain to clean and aquascape though.

If you follow this site http://www.reefvideos.com/ and then go to the video on "Seahorse" you will see a tank of that shape. I really looks great and Marte has it as a ricordea/seahorse tank. One of my favorites.
