View Full Version : Stock my tank

I got this idea from another post. Once my cycle is finished I am going to start stocking my tank. I have a 55 gallon tank and about 100 dollars to spend initially stocking it.

As a result of the constraints, I was thinking about getting some smaller schooling fish. However, I have no idea about which fish I would be choosing even if I got schooling fish and I am not set on any particular idea.

I am probably going to buy the fish from the Dr. Foster Smith website since their guarantee is better than the LFS and they have a better selection (the $100 would not include the shipping costs). There is another LFS that is about an hour away that I may use but unless they have something that catches my eye I will order online.

I know that it will probably cost me $35 for shipping, which is alot, but I would pay the extra rate for the better guarantee. I am hoping that the LFS an hour away will have a good shop so I can use that extra money for stocking the tank, but using only the local store, the internet is the better option.

There is a petsmart in the area but I like the internet selection better.

African cichlid tanks are pretty cool. If you go with that, you could also do upside down catfish.
Oddball tanks are awesome too!
