how fast do fancies grow?

in 1.5-2 months, with large daily feedings how fast will fancy goldfish grow? I am planning to keep 6-8 in a 40br.

6-8 is wayyyy too many in a 40 breeder. I'd put in 2, max. They will get quite large. Don't try to shoehorn in more. I've seen pictures of 8-inch long, FAT fancies that clearly wouldn't be happy in anything smaller than at least a 29.

i don't think he's going to be keeping them in there perm. it looks like another experiement. i don't know how fast they'll grow but comets would grow faster and you'll have to be doing large frequent water changes, like 30% twice a week.

What are you going to do with these fish once your experiment is done?

my orange oranda went from 3 to 6" in 4 months. I common female I had, went from 3" to well over 9" in 6 months

goldfish get CRAZY big in the first couple months. i dont think a grown goldfish could even turn around in a 40!
