i remember reading somewhere that rummy nose are more prone to ich than other fish while transporting. is this true? i have no seperate tank to quaratine them. should i just add some to my current planted tank with a few other fish, the temp is kept at 80-81*. if that helps.

You don't need a tank to setup a q-tank. Any tub that will hold water and can have a small corner filter in it will work. In colder climes, a heater, too--but this can be suspended in the middle, rather than suction cupped to the side.
Any fish can get ich. I haven't heard anything about rummy nose being more or less sensitive than most fish, but that's doesn't mean much. I wouldn't add a fish to my main tank if I suspected on any level that it would infest the tank.
