Hi all,

Tomorrow's the day I plan to bring home the new Lord of the Betta Palace. Hopefully that bright scarlet one I saw last week is still available...

Anyway, since I haven't bought a pet fish in over 20 years :22_yikes:, I thought I'd post and ask what ways you use to introduce fish to their new homes. Following is the procedure I plan to use:

Float sealed bag for 15 minutes to equalize temperature.
Open bag, roll opening to form "float ring.
Add 1/4-cup of tank water every fifteen minutes until the bag is nearly full.
Net-out fish and release him into the tank.
Don't feed for the first day and leave the lights off, so he has time to de-stress and explore. :dive2:

How does that sound?

That will work fine. You only need to fill the bag until the water you added is equal to the amount that was already in the bag though. Some people double the amount. It's really personal preference. Equal amount has worked well for me.

use that procedure to get it in the QT tank for 4 weeks, then repeat for the main tank..

:iagree:

I usually acclimate long enough that i have to take water out of the bag.
